Funding procedure

The Erwin-Stein-Foundation is a small foundation in terms of financial support. It must give preference to projects that have a close connection to the life and work of Erwin Stein. Conferences, courses and excursions can only be funded in exceptional cases. In applications, we ask that the proximity of the project to the profile and goals of the foundation must be made clear, that a cost and financing plan is to be included, and, in the case of applications by young scholars, that a letter of recommendation is enclosed. The Foundation strives to avoid unnecessary bureaucratic efforts. Decisions on the awarding of the Erwin Stein Prize, on the granting of scholarships and other grants are made by the Board of Directors; it bases its decisions on the advice and recommendations of scientists, experts and institutions associated with the Foundation.
